Day of Action for Stalking Awareness

January 18th marks the National Day of Action for Stalking Awareness, a pivotal moment to shine a light on the often-overlooked issue of stalking.  On this day of the National Stalking Awareness Month, Stalking Prevention, Awareness, and Resource Center (SPARC) encourages individuals and organizations to take a stand against stalking – a crime that is both traumatic and alarmingly prevalent.

Stalking is a dangerous and invasive crime that affects millions of people each year.  It often involves the misuse of technology, such as stalkerware, to monitor and control victims.  SPARC emphasizes the importance of education, advocacy and support for survivors.

But awareness is just the beginning.  To truly combat stalking and protect those at risk, we must also empower individuals with tools and resources to safeguard their privacy and communication.

The Sudo Safe Initiative:  empowering safety through privacy

This is where the Sudo Safe Initiative steps in.  Developed by Anonyome Labs, this program is dedicated to providing privacy solutions for individuals at higher risk of harassment, stalking, and violence.  At its core is MySudo, an all-in-one privacy app that allows users to create secure digital profiles, or “Sudos,” complete with unique phone numbers, email addresses, and handles.  These profiles enable private and secure communication, reducing the risk of unwanted contact or tracking.

The Sudo Safe Initiative is particularly impactful for survivors of stalking, domestic violence, and online harassment.  By offering introductory discounts on MySudo, the initiative ensures that safety and privacy are accessible to those who need it most.  Whether you are a survivor, a volunteer, a teacher or a college student, MySudo empowers you to take control of your digital presence and protect your personal information.

Become an advocate for safe communication

The fight against stalking and harassment requires collective action. By becoming an advocate for the Sudo Safe initiative, you can play a vital role in promoting safe communication and privacy.  Advocates receive a toolkit that includes a safe communication guide, privacy tips, exclusive promotions on MySudo, and more.  Together we can create a safer digital world for everyone.
