11 MySudo Features You Might Not Know Exist

MySudo is the world’s only all-in-one privacy app, packed with privacy and safety features. But are you aware of everything you can do with MySudo?

Here are 11 features of the app you might not know about:

Share your Sudo using the share icon

Once you’ve created multiple Sudos to compartmentalize and protect your personal information, you can share any of your Sudo’s contact details with your contacts by tapping on the Share icon. You’ll find the Share icon on the front of each Sudo card (called a vCard), to the left of the photo (which is also customizable – see below). Once you’ve tapped the Share icon, you can choose to share your Sudo contact details via MySudo or your device.

We’re about to introduce the ‘Invite a friend’ feature too so you can easily share MySudo and enjoy end-to-end encrypted communications with other MySudo users.

Flip your Sudo card to add notes

If you click on the three dots (ellipsis) icon to the right of the picture on any of your Sudo cards, the card will flip over and you can add notes. This is a handy feature for remembering what you’ve used that Sudo for and who you’ve shared it with (e.g. ‘School only Sudo’; ‘Grades 3 and 5 parents have these details’ etc.).

Tell whether your contact has any Sudo attributes (email, phone or handle)

The Sudo ‘rings’ (half circles in our logo) will show up around the person’s icon alongside their name in your contacts list, when your contact has added at least one Sudo phone number, Sudo handle or Sudo email to their contact details. You’ll see the Sudo rings in the Contact details screen and also in the Message list, Call list and Email list views.

Re-join group video calls if you leave or get dropped early

You can host a group video call between you and up to four other MySudo users at the same time. But if your group video call gets disconnected due to network interference, you can easily re-join the call within 30 seconds of being cut off. Navigate to the Call record list and tap on the Call record to see the call details. There you will see and tap the Join button.

Edit sent Sudo-to-Sudo encrypted messages

If you send an encrypted message and you make a mistake or want to change it, you can edit it.  Long tap on the message you want to change. Tap the Edit icon (it looks like a pen). Now simply retype or edit the message in the ‘To’ field and resend.

Create group chats with up to 20 other MySudo users

You can send standard SMS messages to any phone using MySudo, whether they have a Sudo or not. But if you’re messaging with other MySudo users, you enjoy enhanced messaging with complete end-to-end encryption, plus group messaging, set and send expiring messages, edit and delete message capabilities, and more.

To create a group chat, simply go into the Sudo from which you want to connect, tap the Message icon at the bottom of your screen to open a new message window, then add contacts. You can add up to 20 MySudo users to this group chat and your communications will be end-to-end encrypted.

You can’t do group chat with contacts who are not using MySudo. We’re introducing the ‘Invite a friend’ feature soon, so that will open up more chat opportunities with your contacts.

Create group video calls in the same way, but start by tapping on the Phone icon at the bottom of the Sudo from which you want to connect.

Name your group chat

You can name your group chat by navigating to your group chat and tapping on the message details at the top of the message thread. From there you can enter a group name. Only you can see this group name.

Pair with browser to use message and email on a web browser (on iOS)

You can use your phone to set up a temporary session with your browser to allow you to use a QR code transfer of keys while the session is active. This will allow you to use MySudo in a browser for messaging and emailing.

To set up the session, go to your iOS device and go to the hamburger menu and tap “Pair with browser”. Follow the instructions by pulling up web.mysudo.com in a browser on your laptop or desktop. Scan the QR code to start the session. MySudo must remain active on your iOS device in order to keep the session connected.

Use global notifications to manage your new incoming communications

Global notifications is a place you can go to view all your new notifications. You can also customize the global notifications by filtering which notifications you see. You can filter by Sudo or by type, including messages, calls and voicemail, and email.

Create virtual cards (subscribers only on iOS)

MySudo virtual card is like a financial avatar. It goes online in place of you and your personal credit or debit card and completes transactions without leaving your personal information. Subscribers to the iOS version of MySudo can set up virtual cards in 5 easy steps. MySudo virtual cards are even more private than your bank’s virtual cards. Change which Sudo your contact is assigned to

If you decide you’d rather have one of your contacts associated with a different Sudo, you can easily switch it. Simply go to the hamburger menu, then Contacts and select the contact you want to change. Change ‘Assigned to’ to the new Sudo.

If you’re new to MySudo and want to use all these great features and more, download the app for iOS or Andr
